LittleBigPlanet 2 is a sequel to LittleBigPlanet which originally released in 2008. LittleBigPlanet was a game which came under the “Platformer” category, but LittleBigPlanet only loosely fits that description. It’s a game which belongs to no particular genre. LittleBigPlanet 2 ( & 1 ) were developed by England-based developer Media Molecule and was released on January 18, 2010 exclusively for the PS3 in North America.

Well, LittleBigPlanet 2 ( and LittleBigPlanet 1 ) have just achieved the unimaginable – both the games combined now boast a cool number of 4 million levels which are solely created by players.

As always, my statement is that today’s market is saturated with shoot-’em-up games. Although this is slowly changing with a variety of games belonging to different genres releasing in 2011 ( inFamous 2, The Last Guardian, and already released – LittleBigPlanet 2 ), by no means does it mean that we’ll be seeing the last of FPS games.

Too many, too bad?

2011 is turning out to be a great year for gaming, with cart loads of hotly anticipated blockbuster titles hitting the market. The question is, which one will you buy? There are games of all genres coming out ( some, already have come out ).

If you didn’t already know, a sequel to Media Molecule’s blockbuster hit LittleBigPlanet released very recently. I’m talking about LittleBigPlanet 2 – the game that literally is a platform for aspiring game designers to create games on.

The game has level-creation tools so deep that it’s just mind-numbing. You can make a myriad of games belonging to different genres, from side-scrolling games to RPGs to FPSs to hack ‘n slash. Nothing except your creativity can limit what you can do with the game’s tools.

In my previous post, I mentioned how LittleBigPlanet 2 was suffering from issues of lag and infinite loading times because of thousands of players being online at the same moment. Well, guess what?

A number of people who were lucky enough to get their hands on a copy of highly anticipated LittleBigPlanet 2 are already reporting some issues about the multiplayer aspect of the game. Apparently, a number of players are reporting that they are getting stuck at an “infinite load screen” when they try to join a level or someone else’s Pod.
