Karl Magnus Troedsson – General Manager at DICE – admitted that prone was in fact making its way to Battlefield 3 because of the “outcry from the community”. “It was hard to ignore the outcry from the community,” he said.

If you’ve played Battlefield: Bad Company 2, you would have no doubt liked the cheesy dialogues and generally goofy setting of the game. When Battlefield 3 comes out, that’s all going to change.

At GDC, Patrich Bach of DICE unhesistantly told the crowd that PC was the lead platform. This piece of news should undoubtedly please PC gamers, who doubted DICE’s intentions when they went multiplat with the Bad Company spin-offs.

You heard that right! As a New Year’s gift, DICE decided to surprise us by announcing on their blog that the fifth hidden and unlockable map – Operation Hastings – is now unlocked for console gamers! That too, even though the team actions of both the consoles combined is about 20 million short of the target set earlier. So, just as the people at DICE said – “cancel all your plans, turn on your tv’s, fire up your consoles and let the Battle For Hastings begin!”

Happy New Year 2011, readers of HCGamingNews! 2010 was an amalgam of good and bad. The year saw some great releases such as: Battlefield: Bad Company 2; Heavy Rain; God of War III; Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood; Gran Turismo 5. There are obviously a few other great games I’ve not mentioned… but hey! You know them, right?
