Remember Gabe Newell? The man at Valve? Remember his comments about the PS3, and how he’d like if it was “more open like a Mac instead of closed like a GameCube”? Then you’ll probably remember how the E3 2010 audience was in for a surprise when it was revealed that Portal 2 will be making its way onto the PS3. Oh, how the times change.
Now it seems as though the relationship between Valve and Sony is growing, because apparently some cool new Steam integration features are making their way onto the PS3 version of the game, making it the best version available on any platform.
Josh Weier, project lead on Portal 2 at Valve had this to say: “We designed the Portal 2 PS3 experience to be very straightforward for gamers. PS3 gamers will be able to simply drop the Blu-Ray disc in the PS3, link to their Steam account from inside the game, and all their Steam friends (on PC and Mac) will be visible and accessible for chat and game invites.”
