Recently, there was a video put up on YouTube ( by YouTube-er xXSCARFACE1983Xx ) which compared the AI in Gran Turismo 5 and Forza Motorsport 3. And shockingly, the video showed Gran Turismo 5 in bad light, showcasing the AI as ridiculously dumb when compared to its Xbox 360 counterpart – Forza Motorsport 3. Eventually, the video garnered enough views to even be featured in several online reviews which used it as a reference to tell people ( mislead people actually ) how bad the AI was. Obviously, your first reaction after watching the video would be to wonder if Kazunori Yamauchi and team even devoted a month to work on AI. Well, guess what? They did. Actually, the real AI of Gran Turismo 5 is far from what’s shown in the game. It is pretty good for a racing simulator, and on par with today’s breed of racing games. There is ample proof to prove it. First, here’s a clever comment on the above video which makes perfect sense:

So as you see, Gran Turismo 5’s AI is not bad after all.
