Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood is the first game in the Assassin’s Creed franchise to include the multiplayer component – an essential part of most games today which are one of the main things which add replay value. And that, according to, Geoffroy Sardin ( Ubisoft EMEA Chief of Marketing and Sales), is the reason why Brotherhood sold 1 million copies in its first week on sale.
And it also seems another Assassin’s Creed will be coming out in 2011. Ubisoft’s key strategy for financial revenue was radically changed a few years ago. The new strategy includes releasing one title from Ubisoft’s best franchises every year. Talking on concordant terms with Ubisoft’s strategy, Sardin told MCV, “Yes, Yves [Guillemot, Ubisoft CEO] mentioned it last week in our financials – and more details will be forthcoming. But what I can say is that next year we will have another big Assassin’s Creed game.”
Let’s hope that releasing an Assassin’s Creed title every year doesn’t push Ubisoft to the extent that it will end up milking the franchise. That would undoubtedly suck.
