We’re just a day away from the launch of one of Sony’s biggest exclusive titles – Gran Turismo 5, developed by Polyphony Digital. It seems that Gran Turismo 5 Prologue ( which is, as the name suggests an appetizer for the real meal to come ) has sold 5.09 million units. Considering the fact that over $100 million+ has been poured into the development of the magnum opus – Gran Turismo 5 – Gran Turismo 5: Prologue may be the only game, erm demo, in history to recover half the development costs – $60 million.
Also, patch 1.01 for the game has already gone live which enables online play, and access to GTTV and so much more; the patch is said to weigh a mildly hefty 133MB.
If you’re an avid PlayStation Blog reader [ and a good critic ] , you’d notice that comment #5 on the post “All the Options: Gran Turismo 5 Collector’s Edition Unboxed” reads: “Custom Soundtracks in GT5?” And the enthusiastic reply to the comment is… “There’s even a Trophy for using it!” Those are the words straight from Jeff Rubenstein.
Also, you can connect your PSP to your PS3 and from the menu you can select “Import Gran Turismo for the PSP system Car Collection data”. Sweet huh? Even the PSP connectivity has been thrown in! Another thing to be happy about that if you own a home theater system, Gran Turismo 5 can take full advantage of that!
We’re just a day away, people – from the launch of one of the most anticipated titles that are ever going to be coming to the PS3. Gran Turismo 5 – the game which has been delayed for almost 6 years… rejoice!
